Past and Future Series: A roundup as we transition to Trump 47

🎊 As we all recap something from 2024, I arrive at year’s end highlighting the community talks I held late this year in my Past & Future Series on Instagram Live.

🎁 I produced these interviews following the Election Day results to dive deep into the policies implemented during the first Trump administration to prepare Latino risk-takers on items of interest around deportations, extremism, jobs and the small business economy for this second term.

✈️ I spoke with retired U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer and Removal Operations Chief Roberto Rodríguez late November, who shared details on how mass deportations can be executed, despite the federal hurdles and lack of funds and facilities needed to process the individuals.

🎯 State University of New York at Oswego professor and extremism expert Celinet Duran-Jimenez analyzed with me the policies and political rhetoric that foster acts like the killing of the UnitedHealthcae CEO, the public support towards its alleged assassin and the ways this polarization will affect Latinos during the second Trump administration, especially those who identify as LGBTQAI+.

💵 I also had the chance to speak with Latino small business lending expert and community leader Jimmy Duran, who shared on how Trump’s agenda for healthcare and the economy is substantially good, if and only if the federal government is able to guarantee that minority entrepreneurs are supported with the hand-held guidance and culturally appropriate information needed to help them benefit from these changes he is proposing for the second term.

✨ I’m grateful with the experts for their trust and I look forward to keeping these conversations going in 2025. If you have a chance, watch one and let me know what you think. If you watched one already, share me your thoughts.
